El pasado viernes, 24 de febrero, se celebr\u00f3\u200b en la Sede de la Cruz Roja de la ciudad de Alicante la X Jornada sobre medio ambiente marino litoral en la Comunidad Valenciana y la Regi\u00f3n de Murcia<\/em>. Un evento que cont\u200b\u00f3 con\u200b m\u00e1s de una docen\u200ba de\u200b contribuciones, entre las cuales queremos destacar la de Paloma Herrera, quien present\u00f3 el proyecto que coordina: \u2018Digitalizaci\u00f3\u200bn\u200b y valorizaci\u00f3n de la pesca en el Mediterr\u00e1neo espa\u00f1ol (DIGIPESCA)\u2019.\u200b\u200b \u200b<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

El objetivo de esta X Jornada ha sido promover la transferencia de conocimiento, la innovaci\u00f3n y la cooperaci\u00f3n entre los diferentes actores, p\u00fablicos y privados, implicados en la sostenibilidad del mar y el litoral. La tem\u00e1tica de este este a\u00f1o se ha centrado en la creaci\u00f3n de redes y el fortalecimiento de alianzas para mejorar la investigaci\u00f3n, facilitar la innovaci\u00f3n y promover procesos de gobernanza participativa en distintos sectores de la Econom\u00eda Azul en el Mediterr\u00e1neo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organizada por la Universidad de Murcia, Cruz Roja Alicante, Universidad de Alicante, Universidad Polit\u00e9cnica de Val\u00e8ncia y la Asociaci\u00f3n Poseid\u00f3n, la Jornada cont\u00f3 con la asistencia de m\u00e1s de medio centenar de personas y un total de 14 ponencias. En ellas se contemplaban cuestiones como la investigaci\u00f3n y la innovaci\u00f3n, as\u00ed como diferentes estrategias de participaci\u00f3n social para impulsar una Econom\u00eda Azul sostenible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Junto la presentaci\u00f3n de proyectos, como ThinkInAzul, Co-Evolve4BG o el LIFE PINNARCA, la del proyecto DIGIPESCA<\/a> corri\u00f3 a cargo de Paloma Herrera-Racionero, coordinadora del mismo. Este proyecto \u200b est\u00e1 financiado por el Ministerio de Agricultura, Pesca y Alimentaci\u00f3n a trav\u00e9s de los fondos NextGeneration de la UE. Surge de la necesidad de abordar la compleja crisis que viene sufriendo desde hace tiempo el sector pesquero. Para ello, un equipo multidisciplinar de investigadores y empresas de cinco comunidades aut\u00f3noma\u200bs est\u00e1 colaborando con el resto de agentes del sector pesquero del Mediterr\u00e1neo espa\u00f1ol. Las alianzas as\u00ed generadas buscan \u200bofrecer (a trav\u00e9s de la digitalizaci\u00f3n, la comercializaci\u00f3n y la valorizaci\u00f3n del sector) herramientas y estrategias que contribuyan a mejorar la gesti\u00f3n pesquera, adapt\u00e1ndola al contexto act\u200bual\u200b. Se persigue, de esta manera, lograr tanto la sostenibilidad ambiental de los recursos, como la sostenibilidad econ\u00f3mica de los pescadores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En el proyecto se contemplan diversas l\u00edneas de actuaci\u00f3n. Entre ellas destacan la aplicaci\u00f3n\u200b de la inteligencia artificial para la identificaci\u00f3n de especies, la estimaci\u00f3n de biomasa o de tallas; el blockchain<\/em> o trazabilidad de las capturas pesqueras que garantice una pesca responsable y sostenible; o el an\u00e1lisis del actual mecanismo de subasta y la consideraci\u00f3n de modelos alternativos que permitan al sector asentar su posici\u00f3n econ\u00f3mica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los resultados definitivos se presentar\u00e1n en septiembre de este a\u00f1o, fecha prevista para la finalizaci\u00f3n del proyecto. No obstante se espera que los resultados generados por DIGIPESCA sean la semilla para la creaci\u00f3n de una red de colaboraci\u00f3n entre centros de investigaci\u00f3n y el propio sector pesquero que perdure en el tiempo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last Friday, 24 of febrary, was held at the Headquarters of the Red Cross in the city of Alicante the X Conference on coastal marine environment in the Valencian Community and the Region of Murcia. An event that had more than a dozen contributions, among which we want to highlight that of Paloma Herrera, who presented the project she coordinates: ‘Digitalization and valorization of fishing in the Spanish Mediterranean (DIGIPESCA)’.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The objective of this X Conference has been to promote knowledge transfer, innovation and cooperation between the different actors, public and private, involved in the sustainability of the sea and the coast<\/em>. This year’s theme has focused on networking and strengthening partnerships to improve research, facilitate innovation and promote participatory governance processes in different sectors of the Blue Economy in the Mediterranean.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Organized by the University of Murcia, Red Cross Alicante, University of Alicante, Polytechnic University of Valencia and the Poseidon Association, the conference was attended by more than fifty people and a total of 14 presentations. These covered issues such as research and innovation, as well as different social participation strategies to promote a sustainable Blue Economy.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along with the presentation of projects, such as ThinkInAzul, Co-Evolve4BG or LIFE PINNARCA, the DIGIPESCA project<\/a> was carried out by Paloma Herrera-Racionero, project coordinator. This project is funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food through EU NextGeneration funds. It arises from the need to address the complex crisis that the fisheries sector has been experiencing for some time. To this end, a multidisciplinary team of researchers and companies from five autonomous communities is collaborating with the rest of the agents in the fishing sector of the Spanish Mediterranean. The alliances generated seek to offer (through digitalization, trading and valorization of the sector) tools and estrategies that contribute to improving fisheries management, adapting it to the current context. It seeks, in this way, to achieve both environmental sustainability os resources, and the economic sustainability os fishermen.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The project includes several lines of action. Among these they stand out the application of artificial intelligence for species identification, the estimation of biomass and sizes; the blockchain or traceability of fish catches that guarantees responsible and sustainable fishing; or the analysis ot the current auction mechanism and the consideration of alternative models that allow the sector to establish its economic position.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The final results will be presented in September of this year, the expected date for the completion of the project. However, it is expected that the results generated by Digipesca will be the seed of the creation of a collaboration network between research centers and the sector itself that lasts over time.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
